Dance of the Week App!

Dance of the Week AppHere’s a mockup of my idea for a mobile application, “The Dance of the Week” app.  Each week the application will deliver a new dance to app users; teaching them the steps of the featured dance and displaying the completed performance via video.  Users can rate their experience/liking of each dance, view the history of that dance as well as search for dance studios nearby on the “Studios Nearby” tab.

Thanks for reading friends and remember to let me know your thoughts in the comments section.

And while we’re on the subject, enjoy this happy video of these folks having a Merengue dance party!  How can you not smile?!

Happy dancing, all!

  1. Oh, wow! This is such a great idea! The other day I put on my tap shoes that I still have from when I was like, 12 years old, wishing I remembered some steps from back in the day when I took classes, and I was too lazy at the time to browse lessons on Youtube, haha. This app would have been fun and perfect that day! And I can imagine this being popular for people who go out a lot, or maybe for someone who wants to learn dances before they go to weddings and stuff. I think your screen prototypes look neat and excellent and well thought out, and I like the idea of having a video embedded in the app and a brief history of each dance. I also think its a great idea to allow users to rate their experiences, allowing them more personal involvement with the app. It also seems very easy to navigate and useful for dance lovers. Well done!

  2. This app would be really fun! And being able to see an instructional video that shows you the moves would make learning to dance so much easier. I am sure there are many people who just don’t have the means to take dance lessons that would really appreciate something like this.

    Great idea! =)

  3. I’m loving this idea! I am a former dancer, but once I left high school I no longer had anywhere to dance, or take my dancing career. I love the idea of being able to learn a dance in the comfort of my own home.
